Team Purple 2.0 are still two 'fun Mum's' but this time around we have Connie (Ko Ngāti Hinemanu nui tonu te iwi), who has been firm friends with Rach for over a decade. No stranger to a building site, Connie joined Rach in week three, to make up the new post lockdown Team Purple, after Janah was unable to return. Having met Rach in the Army 11 years ago, Connie is ready to put her Army discipline and knowledge to work! She's an electrician by trade and runs her own building company, so along with Rach's savvy design skills could this now be the team to beat?
Rach (Ngāti Raukawa) joined the army straight out of school and was stationed overseas for long periods of time, which she says built up her strength and determination. Connie, who has also been in the Army since 2010, reckons being sparky by trade and her thorough knowledge of all the trades could give them the winning edge. As for faults, Connie says she gets on with everyone but she will 'pick her battles', whereas Rach is fiercely competitive and knows her biggest problem is changing her mind - a lot!
